  Description

Brembo SuperSport Brake Discs Set, 2 Front Racing Disks, One Left + One Right Disk.

During braking the disc has to dissipate the kinetic energy of the motorcycle, which is normally a result of the conversion into heat, which is provoked by the friction between the pads and the disc itself. This is a pure racing part.

Therefore, the latter is affected by a thermomechanic force (heat + force) that the disc naturally holds out without getting deformed.

Every disc has its own inertia (i.e. the tendency of a body not to modify its motion status, so that the higher the inertia, the harder it will be to change the motion of a body), which depends on the weight and the external diameter of the disc and it could also be defined an index of the “difficulty” to move the axle rotation of the disc (the so-called gyroscopic effect).
In practice, the inertia affects the speed when shifting directions. It is necessary to take all these points into consideration when designing a new disco. The best performance is achieved when the disc is lighter and more resistant.

BREMBO RACING SUPERSPORT 5,5-mm discs are fully interchangeable with the original discs and they are designed to fit to the OE calipers as well as with BREMBO Racing.

These are floating discs made up of a brake rotor in thermically-treated martensitic stainless steel (capable to stand any thermomechanic strain) and of an CNC alloy-aluminium bell. The 2 parts are connected to each other using 10 bushings.

These discs are used by many Top Level Teams competing in worldwide SuperSport events.

Price is for TWO Front Discs.

The images shown inside this page are the generic images that Brembo uses in its catalog / website to advertise the SuperSport disc line, the disc on sale will reflect the specifications of the SuperSport line and will have specific shape and fixing holes for the bikes listed as compatible. .

FAQ: This disc is 5.5mm, my standard is 5mm, so it is fair to say that lasts longer than standard disc or a than a Brembo Serie Oro? A: These are Racing Discs = for Track use only = Not For Highway USE = Pure Sports, so far not for long mileage. Although the Rotor (steel where pads work) is thicker than the standard, this kind of disc cover shorter mileage. This is due to the wear of the bell and the floating bushes, which by floating consume themselves and the bell itself. Also bushes can not be restored because the new bushes would have an excessive play on the bell. Finally, using the disc on straights or highway, or under conditions in which the pad does not work on the disc, the disc is quite noisy because of the fully floating. For Road / Long Mileage Uses we always recommend Brembo Serie Oro Discs.

  Customer Questions & Answers
Question:
Hi just wondering what would be the difference between this and serie ORO rotors
January / 07 / 2016
Answer:
This a Racing 5.5mm full floating disk, while ORO is an excellent stock disk replacement.

Question:
Will these discs fit the 1989 Yamaha FZR1000?Thanks
September / 24 / 2019
Answer:
These disks will fit, We don't list as compatible because they are disks for track use , then it will be really difficult that should be used with a 30 yo motorcycle.

Question:
Do you have bolts for these discs? Please take my hand and lead me to them ;)
January / 04 / 2020
Answer:
We don't. They are fixed using oem bolts.

Question:
My first two SuperSport pairs were gold/champagne. Still fantastic braking, but on my current pair the center/"bell" is more orange than gold/champagne. It does not color match my fork slider or Brembo 30/34 "996" calipers. Are the current production back to champagne or still orange?
January / 23 / 2022
Answer:
You are asking about anodization, it is never the same on racing parts. In any case usually it is GOLD which is not close to champagne; during the lifetime btw it is natural that the color shades to a light orange.
