but, in spite of progress and development, it is
still a very important device. Studies have shown that at high speeds the air
pressure acts on the lever so as to put the circuit
under pressure, rendering it non-operational. (hydraulic clutch).

Changing with controls that are ever more precise
and smooth make it almost superfluous even uphill, making its use strictly necessary
only when moving off. The mechanical
element, however, continues to play a fundamental role in the transmission of
power from the engine to the wheel. And it has a
major enemy: speed. Studies have shown that, at speeds above 180 km per hour,
the air pressure acts on the lever so as to put
the circuit under pressure in the case of clutches with hydraulic controls.
That entails a risk of abnormal clutch wear, which can
cause slippage and wear out the discs.
