  Description

Brembo Radial Master Cylinder has made the history of Racing Brake System, it's the most used MotoGP or SBK master cylinder and it is the market leader.

Over the past two years, first in MotoGP and then on SuperSport street motorcycles, Brembo has introduced new radial calipers with a smaller piston diameter.

The last generation calipers have a much higher modulability than the larger pistons calipers, reducing braking distances in the straight and increasing speed along corners, so far you can also brake along the first part of the corner and when you stop braking the load transfer between front and rear is smoother.

The motorcycles that have benefited immediately are the Ducati Panigale with Brembo M50 calipers and Aprilia RSV4 with M430 calipers .

Along with these calipers a different master cylinder is required, , that's why Brembo has introduced the 17RCS .

The 17RCS then arises halfway between the 15RCS and 19RCS sharing the possibility of variation of the fulcrum common to the entire range .

17 x 18 is the extremest set up, the shorter wheelbase is preferred by riders who like more power and excellent progressiveness, with a working stroke slightly shorter than the 17x20, the 17 x 20 is the "ready" set up, the longer the wheelbase is, the shorter lever runs, as well less power is transferred to the piston.

Adjustable ratio: RCS system
This new patented device allows to modify the pump lever ratio on two values, 18 or 20 mm, by simply rotation of the eccentric drive placed on the front of the lever drive. By the RCS system – Ratio Click System – it is very easy to pass from one configuration to the other one, modifying the lever ratio to adjust it to the different characteristics of the braking system, of the usage and driving, such as, for ex., the wet or dry conditions, asphalt with more or less grip, circuit with strong braking.
This adjustment is the element missing till now to get the ideal feeling among the rider, the driving style, the bike and the circuit.
NB. The red spot on the eccentric drive identifies position 18mm of the lever ratio, while black indicates position 20mm.
MotoGP Floating Piston
The inner piston, seals, push rod are the same as the majority of the MotoGP and SBK riders use.
Brake master cylinder carries out a crucial job during the braking and the usage of the MotoGP parts guarantee excellent performances in all usage conditions because of the very reduced manufacturing tolerances and of the very good smoothness.
Master cylinder body
The master cylinder body is in aluminium alloy, produced by forging and then CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machined by lightening milling.
Very closed manufacturing tolerances, similar to those used in MotoGP, guarantee the perfect matching with the floating piston due to a working precision never seen. For the superficial finishing it has been chosen the hard anodizing, electrolytic process which converts the surface of aluminium and its alloys into a vary hard oxide coating which guarantees very high resistance to abrasion and corrosion.
Brake lever
The lever is made of two main components: the racing lever drive and the lever itself, folding and manufactured by forging. In the lever joint it has been inserted a patented system which allows the rotation only by the effect of an eventual tumble of the bike, without the possibility of an accidental rotation and getting in this way a bigger dynamic
safety.
The control for the lever distance adjustment from the handlebar has been re-placed and now it is in axis with the lever itself, guaranteeing the assembly of the eventual remote adjuster.
By using this control, the press push rod does not move in respect to the master cylinder body, keeping the best working angle of the push rod. Therefore, either by getting the brake lever closer or farer to the handlebar, the efficiency of the kinematics motion does not change, assuring less friction and lack of scattered forces.
In addition the lever has its fulcrum on the pump body by mean of a bushing/gauged pin system which guarantees high stiffness and better feeling together with a high resistance to wear.

Micro-switch
A special housing has been designed for the rear stop light mechanic micro switch, for street usage of the master cylinder. The micro-switch is supplied in the same master cylinder package.
The switch works "normally open" when the lever rests; by pressing the lever it closes the circuit. The switch can not replace a switch that works "normally closed", such as BMW switches, Yamaha equipped with cruise control (ex MT-10 and Tracer)
Lever contrast springs
High load springs have been chosen to guarantee the constant contact between the eccentric drive and the push rod; in this way you can avoid wear due to the knocking by the vibrations of the vehicle and an item of further safety is introduced in the transient phase between accelerator release and brake, resulting in an advantageous life increase of the various components.

19RCS , 17RCS, 15RCS, 14RCS ? These numbers identify piston diameter:

  • 19RCS to be installed on twin disks bikes with axial or radial calipers; not compatible with Floating Calipers
  • 17RCS to be installed on twin disks bikes with axial or radial calipers whose pistons diameter is 32mm or lower, for example Ducati Panigale or RSV4, Yamaha R1/R6 etc etc.; not compatible with Floating Calipers
  • 15RCS to be used on twin disks braking system carrying floating calipers (Naked), and on single disk bikes (motard).
    The 15 RCS with 15 x 20 set up works like a 16 x 18 mc, while 15 x 18 equals a 16 x 16 mc.
  • 14RCS to be installed on single/twin disks Scooters and single disks Motorcycles (from 50cc up to 600cc) . Available both Right and Left Side.

Fits a M10x1,0 mm bajo adapter (normaly japan bikes has M10x1,25mm one).
Oem axial master cylinder brakes hoses could not fit radial mc, we can supply specific brake hoses or the adaptor.

April / 14 / 2014
Answer:
The specific mc for M50 is 17RCS

Question:
hi, is this recommended for tmax 530 2012 model?
April / 20 / 2014
Answer:
On TMAX 530 people use 19RCS , therefore you can use also 17RCS. For sure you will have a better feeling on lever.

Question:
Hi. I'm a bit confused, will this master perform better than the 19rcs on a Panigale? Meaning the smaller size will actually result in improved braking distance?
May / 22 / 2014
Answer:
Yes, recommended by Brembo combined with M50 calipers

Question:
Hi, what would be the difference using this MC instead of the 19RCS with Brembo M4 Monobloc calipers? Thank you.
June / 07 / 2014
Answer:
M4 pistons are 34mm, no problem to use,in any case the right choice on M4 is 19RCS. 17RCS will be smoother and more gentle. For Street use I think is better, I'm installing now on my bike and I will write my impressions soon.

Question:
hi, What is the best fit for a bandit 1200 (phase 1), 17rcs or 19rcs ?

Question:
Good day. What will be the best for racing. I have a BMW S1000RR Brembo calipers M50 and I decide between the pump RCS 19 or 17, further Brembo CNC 19 x 16 or 19 x 18 ?
October / 27 / 2014
Answer:
M50 are not racing calipers, as well as RCS are not racing master cylinders. The are high performance parts for sure but not used in any competition. Also M50 best match with 17RCS.CNC master cylinders are true racing mcand usually works with racing calipers like GP4 RR. My opinion is to use 17RCS .

Question:
Hello, I race a Daytona 675. Q1; No2 bike Nissan front calipers and Master Cylinder, under severe braking the Nissan's fade. Would a brembo MC achieve a firmer front brake response and if so worth the effort? No1 bike 675R oem brembo's would an upgraded brake master cylinder give a better braking response? Thank you.
December / 28 / 2014
Answer:
The probem is not the Nissin mc is probably the brake fluid, or the pads, in any case a radial RCS will brake better than an oem master cylinder.

I would use 17RCS

Question:
Hi, I am riding a 2011 Multistrada S touring. I currently have stock setup.1) Would 17RCS be suitable? 2) will i need to change my brake lines? 3) Can i change to 17RCS and eventually change my calipers to M50 a few months later or recommended to do both at the same time?
May / 06 / 2015
Answer:
17RCS is OK, you should at least purchase the "Universal Radial Master Cylinder Adaptor" But I suggest to change brake lines. Adding M50 is another great improvement but I might suggest to change just mc and then decide. Handguards should be removed.

Question:
I was recommended by carpimoto in the 15RCS page that I should use 17RCS for my ducati gt1000. But the product page here states it is not for float calipers. I thought this is more for bikes with ABS.17RCS to be installed on twin disks bikes with axial or radial calipers whose pistons diameter is 32mm or lower, but NOT on Floating Calipers; for example Ducati Panigale or RSV4, Yamaha R6 etc etc.
July / 22 / 2015
Answer:
Hi, for floating calipers Brembo suggests 15RCS, and it is the correct piston size, but my personal choice is 17RCS because the bike has a big engine, big disks and it is heavy. If you don't want an extreme braking choose 15RCS .

Hello. I read you are looking for LEVERS. But you write you need also other parts. I think you need Master Cylinders therefore I suggest Brembo 17RCS Brake master cylinder premium kit + Brembo 16RCS Clutch master cylinder + reservoir + Fren Tubo brake and clutch hoses.

Question:
Hello, I am plan to purchase the 17RCS, GP4RX and Fren Tubo Type 4 Carbotech brake lines(the one with ABS, 7 lines kit) for my R1M.The GP4RX is 4 x 32mm pistons so I guess the 17RCS is the best fit, correct? However some people mention about the OEM brake line has some fitting issue with the Brembo RCS and the new R1(2015), do I need any modification or some extra parts? Is the Fren Tubo ABS lines fit? Also any screws or spacers I need for the calipers? Thanks.
October / 29 / 2015

Brembo does not list the 17RCS for the BMW RNineT, but the 19RCS (http://moto.brembo.com/en/results/bmw/r-nine-t/1200/2014/master-cylinders/front). Could you confirm the 17RCS can still be used ? what advantage would it provide in comparison with the 19RCS?One last question ? do you have available the Brembo Mechanical Clutch Lever (110.B012.75) ?Thanks
November / 02 / 2015
Answer:
Good morning, with 17RCS you will have a more adjustable bracking. With 19 RCS you have more powerful but less adjustable braking. We have Clutch lever in stock. But the lever is for mechanical clutch not for hydraulic, it is a clear mistake of Brembo site.

Question:
Hi is RCS 17 Master Cylinder recommended for my 2013 Aprilia RSV4? The discs and callipers are all stock and no changes have been made.

Question:
Hi. Very impressed from your Brembo Knowledge????I have an Aprilia Rsv4 RF 2015 with ABS, all oem. The oem mc does not have enough brake power and I do need to upgrade. Some magazines say that my Aprilia has M50 calipers and some say they are M4.30. Do you know which ones are they??As my Aprilia has ABS I am not sure if I can fit a Brembo RCS, as I do want to keep the ABS full functionally for the street. I need more brake power than oem, but not a lot more. Can I use the RCS and wich one do you recommend me, the RCS-17 or RCS-19??Many thanks!! ????
March / 18 / 2016
Answer:
Hi, you have M4.30 very very similar to M50 calipers. The correct MC for your bike is 17RCS, or CNC 19x16, if you want increase braking power you can purchase 19RCS. If you change only MC you will not have any problem with ABS System.

Question:
Hi! Does this master cylinder fit Aprilia Tuono Factory 1100? Will I have problem with ABS?

Question:
Hi,what about the BMW S1000XR?I recon, since you have had recomended previously the 19RCS to be used on the S1000R and S1000RR.
October / 18 / 2016
Answer:
BMW S1000XR has handuguards, you can't install RCS.

Question:
thank you for the prompt reply.TI have thought about that, but in my case there are no handguards.Handguards are optional.Thank you
October / 18 / 2016
Answer:
S1000R and S1000RR use different calipers, 17 piston is small. For your S1000XR you can use 17RCS or 19RCS, both are correct, I would use 17RCS because I like less power and more modulability but is my choice, most of the riders prefer more power.

Question:
Ok let me write it better. You mentioned before that the S1000R and S1000RR use different calipers.Do you know if also the XR has its own specific calipers, different than the other 2?Or does it use the same as one of those 2 (either the RR or R)?
October / 20 / 2016
Answer:
Hi, S1000XR use the same calipers of R1200GS ADV 13-. It' s another model of calipers

Question:
Hi for a 2016 RSV4 RF which Brembo master cyl do you recommend ? All stock brake components with m430 calipers !? Also will it make for a shorter throw brake Lever ? Thx in advance
November / 21 / 2016
Answer:
Same answer as wrote before: Hi, you have M4.30 very very similar to M50 calipers. The correct MC for your bike is 17RCS, or CNC 19x16, if you want increase braking power you can purchase 19RCS. If you change only MC you will not have any problem with ABS System. Shorter Lever: you can purchase as spare part.

I regret to inform that we don't have a direct experience on replacing front master cylinder on VROD. Therefore it will be possible to give you an advice if we know the oem master cylinder diameters for both brake and clutch. Also we need the number and the diamterer of the caliper pistons. Please write us back one you got these informations.

Question:
Correct RCS MC for a 2016 Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory? Stock Calipers are M432. Thank you.
January / 16 / 2017
Answer:
Thank you for contacting us through our website. Yes I confirm this part is correct. You can also use 19RCS btw .

Question:
Why would one use the 17RCS vs the 19RCS for a M432 caliper? Pros/Cons... Thanks!
January / 16 / 2017
Answer:
17RCS is the right diamter for M432, the one suggested by Brembo, more modulable. 19RCS is used by rider that do not mind modulable but want more braking power.

Question:
I want to run an rcs17 on my 2016 s1000rr I don't like the lift switch feel from the rcs19 will the 17 be to small of a piston for a track race bike. I would like more modulation rather than the light switch feel of the 19 and the Oem Nissan.
January / 17 / 2017
Answer:
I don't see a question mark. If the question is if 17RCS will be small ? Yes it is small and not recommended for S1000RR .

Question:
I'm looking for a radial master cylinder set up for my MT-03 Scrambler. Two discs, four pistons of 25 and 30 mm. Right now with the 16mm stock master cylinder I hate the brake feel, what should I use?None really seem to work in the math....
January / 26 / 2017
Answer:
You can use a 15RCS or 16x18 .

Question:
Hi! which is the best brake and clutch master cylinder from brembo that will fit Brembo M4 108mm to my Hayabusa 2012? Thanks for reply.
February / 04 / 2017
Answer:
Regarding Brake: the best is the most expensive ;) ... a good and correct choice is the 19RCS. Regarding Clutch: we prefer not to tell you which is correct because the 1300 engine clutch is very big and hard and we could not provide the right choice, for sure is not 16RCS btw .

Question:
Hi again! Thanks. Now i want to know which is the correct / clutch master cylinder from Brembo to fit my Suzuki GSX 1400 (K5). thanks
February / 04 / 2017
Answer:
The answer is the same as for GSX-R 1300: we prefer not to tell you which is correct because these big engines use master slave cylinder and clutch master cylinder with big diameters and specific lever, as far Brembo does not provide the correct info we can tell you which is which only if we had a direct experience. For example on MT-01 and VMAX 1700 we know that it is not possible to use 16 or 17RCS because a customer went to our shop to install them.

Question:
Hello there 17RCS or 19RCS calipers on GSR 600 (2006-2010) diameter piston 4x32mm.To used to GSR 750 abs 2012
April / 03 / 2017

Question:
Would this also fit Tuono V4 APRC 2012 or I have to go with RC19?
April / 30 / 2017
Answer:
Hi, we suggest you 19RCS

Question:
Thank you for this nice q&a page. I have a Yamaha MT-09 2014 with ABS. I am thinking to change the MC with Rcs 17, but because the brake lines goes firstly to the ABS module, I would like to ask if there is a power loss? Do you think is it better to use Rcs 19 in the models with ABS?
May / 10 / 2017
Answer:
Hi, no we suggest you 17RCS

Question:
Hi! For the 2014 BMW R Nine-T, what you advise for brake and clutch master cylinders to track use? Thanks!

Question:
Hello, I need your advice, I have mt09 2017 and recently I am focused mainly on track ride.1. Is 17rsc to increase my breaking power as per track use or I will need some other pump and what you would suggest?2.I red in the product description of 17rsc that it’s not recommended for floating calipers but you recommend it for mt09, do I need to change and calipers too?3. What brake lines you would suggest?Thank you in advance!
October / 21 / 2017
Answer:
17RCS is the master clinder recommended by Brembo for the motorcycles we list in this page, you can use 19RCS but you will lose modulability. 2)-3) MT-09 has not floating calipers, you calipers are fine if you use a RCS + track pads + braided brake lines like Fren Tubo. I love carbotech type 4 , I use on every motorcycle I drive.

Question:
hola que pinzas brembo podria montar en una mt09 de 2014 sin abs y con que bomba rsc
November / 01 / 2017

Question:
Hi, I would like to install M50 calipers on my 2011 KTM 990 SMT (with ABS). I know that it's an ambitious project.I would have to replace brake discs (to 320mm) and hose lines. In what refers to brake pump I have read that RCS 17 is the best option for M50 calipers. What do you think about it? Thanks.
November / 02 / 2017
Answer:
You can't use this system keeping ABS. If you do not use ABS is for sure a good braking upgrade and parts are a good match.

Question:
Hi, What would be the recommended version (RCS16 or 17) for a Ducati Monster 1100?
November / 14 / 2017
Answer:
Hi, we suggest you 19RCS. You can also use 17RCS btw.

Question:
Many are now saying the RCS19 actually works better on 2016 RSV4 then the RCS17 “” it works just fine with abs system as well What you think ?
February / 21 / 2018
Answer:
We receintly received the appplication list from Brembo and we add the info to our site dividing every model year, then if you filter our site by your bike you can check it. The application is based on stock caliper and stock master cylinder diameter, if a rider prefer to use a different mc it won't be a problem for sure , simply is not what Brembo recommend to be the best solution.

Question:
HI.What brake pump do you recommend for the KTM 1290 Super Adventure? The brake discs are 320 mm.I want him to brake more.Thank you
May / 23 / 2018
Answer:
We do no list ant master cylinder for your bike because stock handguards could not be compatible with a different lever / master cylinder. A different brake lever could touch the handguard edge or be too wide. BTW For the calipers installed on Super Adventure the right master cylinder is a 17RCS.

Question:
Hi! I´m working on an custom XJR and i already have the RC19 mounted. i just got my hands on a set of ISR axial 6 piston calipers and wonder if they work together? i read somewhere that they go with 4 piston calipers only? Can´t be true...
June / 19 / 2018
Answer:
It is not true that 19 works with 4 pistons because in some cases (small diameter pistons) it is better to use 17RCS, it is not true that does not work with 6 pistons because 19mm is the bigger diameter available and also because usually 6 pistons use small diameter pistons that equals a 4 big piston caliper.

Question:
I’m looking to upgrade the master cylinder on my 06 cbr 1000rr. Which is the better choice for my bike, 19rcs or 17rcs
June / 25 / 2018
Answer:
You should use 19RCS .

Question:
Hi,I ride a R1 2017 and Brembo say 19rcs.But... it also says that for smaller caliper piston a 17rcs is the better choice, like i. e. M50s fit with 17rcs.Now my very big doubt:If the oem caliper pistons in my R1 rn49 are even smaller than m50, why does Brembo say rcs19? I'm confused and I don't know if 19 or 17 is really the best choice for me.Thanks
July / 12 / 2018
Answer:
the right diameter for oem calipers is 17mm but most track riders remove ABS and use 19x16, then the choice is very personal.

Question:
Thnx a lot for that impressive quick response, great.Do you maybe know why for track is 19 prefered by most riders? I also do mixed use of the bike. Thanks again in advance.
July / 12 / 2018
Answer:
Because there is not a CNC master cylinder in 17mm diameter then riders choouse 19x16 or 19x18 of the XR series .

Question:
Aprilia RST Futura: I'm thinking: Clutch MC: RCS14Left and Brake MC: RCS17 or would you recommend other options ? And what are the options for microswithes for these MC's ?
July / 31 / 2018
Answer:
Brake: Yes 17 is correct; Clutch : we don't know which is the oem master cylinder diameter therefore we can't answer. If it is a 13mm then 14RCS is correct, if it is a 15mm you need 16RCS

Question:
Aprilia RST Futura: Thanks for swift reply. Original clutch MC dia is 12mm, so will choose RCS14Left. However, you did not answer reg. the microswitch issue: What are the microswitch options for RCS14Left and RCS17?
August / 01 / 2018
Answer:
17RCS included, 14RCS not included. Please read what we write in the produc pages and if you have a specific question post a new question.

Question:
Suzuki GSX-R 600 2010 (non ABS) with Brembo M432 Calipers and Brembo Oro discs:Brembo RCS17 or RCS19 for track and street useage?I want to upgrade because the stock-pump has not enough power if the system is "warm", so i pull the lever against the handle. The stock piston diameter is ~17.5 so the RCS19 might be the better choice for an non abs-bike to increase breaking performance? Iam a little bit insecure because the RCS17 is suggest to work with 30/32mm pistons, the M432 has 32mm.
September / 04 / 2018
Answer:
The problemm of the lever could not only caused by the master cylinder but by the brake liquid and by the pads. BTW if you want to change mc you can choose both, most riders choose 19RCS even if Brembo recommends 17RCS and they are satisfied. It is just a very personal choice.

Question:
Hi. For a Ducati Pantah fitted with twin floating discs of 280 mm and Brembo calipers P4-30/34. What master cilinder do you recommend? Thanks
April / 04 / 2019
Answer:
You can use both a 17RCS or a 19RCS, or a 19x18 if you use the bike only on track. The 30/34 calipers at their time (when they were top commercial Brembo calipers) were used with the only available radial master cylinders , the 19x20 or 19x18.

Question:
I wish to upgrade braking on my Ducati 916SP  If i buy new P4-30/34 calipers which master would you recommend - RCS17 or 19 - for track & road.
April / 16 / 2019

The 19mm diameter is correct for your model year, then You can use both 19RCS .

Question:
I have read quite a bit regarding the 19RCS and 17RCS in your Questions and Answers. My question is regarding a 2018 MT-07 (street only), with the ABS intact, would I get a noticeable increase in braking force using a 17RCS in place of the OEM unit?I thank you for this answer as well as all the others I was able to read through.
April / 25 / 2019
Answer:
It will be different, more power and a diifferent feeling, you will move from axial to radial, from a stock component to a premium part.

Question:
Hello, can you use this Brembo Master Cylinder with the stock brake fluid reservoir of a tmax 530 2017 or do you need to change that as well ? Does the Brembo Master cylinder come with a brake fluid reservoir of do you have to purchase this separately ?
April / 25 / 2019
Answer:
The TMAX reservoir is the master cylinder itself then you can't use it. We recommend to purchase the 17RCS premium kit so far.

Hi. I’m building a custom. Kx500 motored, Ohlins 1098 forks, BST carbon wheels. Goal weight of the bike 250lbs but could end up at 325lbs? Going to race it. (Maybe track days also. Going to use a single Brembo caliper. Thinking the GP4-RS, M4 108 or maybe M50. Leaning to the GP4-RS. Going to use a Braking wave rotor (Duc). Which would work better for the MC the 14RCS or the 15RCS? Thanks, Mike Wagner.
June / 29 / 2019

The right master cylinder is a racing master cylinder therefore a 16x18 CNC Brembo radial master cylinder.

Question:
Hi I have an rsv4rf 2016 7000 miles and have had problems with oem brembo brake system. Experiencing pulsing and loosing pressure of brake fluid generally generally stood still. New wheel bearings, upgraded brembo disc oro series 330, sintered pads, sorted my pulsing but not the loss of pressure in brake fluid? Quick few pumps then up to pressure. Doesn't brake fade on hard braking. Is there a brembo master cylinder seal kit to keep the pressure up. Very disturbing when arriving at corner not knowing whether I have to give a quick pump to regain pressure then hard brake. Will buying a new master cylinder solve this problem? Many thanks
July / 31 / 2019
Answer:
Not possible to confirm you will solve your problems, there are so many factors or mistakes that can be made while installing brake parts that it is not professional to tell you "change the master cylinder" and you will solve.

Your bike stock master cylinder is over 17 mm and less than 19mm therefore the right choice is 19RCS.

Hi there.. im riding xmax 300... im planning to upgrade my front n rear brake... for front caliper what u recommend n what rcs shld i get for front braking.. n for rear what caliper n rcs shld i get?
October / 17 / 2019
Answer:
14RCS is the master cylinder developed by Brembo for scooters or motorcycle with small size piston stock calipers. Brembo does not produce any plug & play caliper for scooter, btw we know that many riders use Brembo P4-30/34 Caliper combined with specific brackets, in this case we recommend 15RCS .

Question:
Hallo!I ride Husqvarna FS450(2017). Single Brembo m50 caliper. Brembo rcs15 master cylinder compatible my bike?(if no, then which type) Very thank's Zoli
December / 07 / 2019
Answer:
Yes sure 15RCS will work fine, btw it is not the typical master cylinder to be used on a racing supermoto motorcycle, riders use 16x16 or 16x18 master cylinders.

Question:
Buell 1125r 8piston caliper ZTL2, original MC 19mm. Want to fit the 19RCS. Street use only so dont want too "quick/abruptly" feel to it. But don't want to get handel all the way in against trottle either.ZTL2 has 4x30mm and 4x26mm pistons=224mm total. Looks like Brembo recomend 17RCS up to Ø:258mm (max 32mm). And 19RCS is recomended over 32mm?But Buell runs 19mm on this calipers. So what RCS to choose?

Hi, so I am asking again since I didn't receive any email after posting my question so if you got the first one, just ignore this. So I got a 2011 Dorsoduro 1200, and I want to replace my MC. I was wondering which one of the brembo MC, 17 or 19, is best and if I need anything extra or will the OEM brembo parts fit. I was thinking at the least, a new line from the MC to the ABS will be required.
December / 14 / 2019
Answer:
You posted your question Friday at 6.20 PM, now it is Saturday morning. Please give us the time to have dinner and Saturday brunch :) . As far we know Dorsoduro 1200 uses a Brembo PSC 15 master cylinder, therefore the right choice is a 17RCS with new lines or radial adaptor

Question:
Hello,I own a Ducati Monster 1200S, 2014 model. What is the best option for my case, the RC19 corta corsa MC or RC 17 corta corsa MC?Also in order to mount the original mirror and reservoir for the brake fluid of the bike I have to order an additional part?If yes what is the part number of it?Finally, an upgrade of the oem clutch MC to RC16 MC would worth the money?Thank you
July / 15 / 2020
Answer:
The right diamater is 19mm, you neeed a reservoir bracket (there is not a specific kit, there is a kit for RCS not Corsa Corta), a mirror clamp. Changing the clutch mc will not improve clutch performance .

17RCS is correct for road and track use. Pads: SR is a compound as well to use for road and track, along with SBS RS. To improve braking we recommend racing pads and racing brake fluid, for example Brembo Z04 pads and Motul RBF . then you may also change disks. PLease note the last listed mods are not street legal at all.

I just wanted to follow up on my question above about the 2007 GT100. Will the 19RCS work for the front brake MC, or is it truly not recommended at all? Will it result in a terrible experience? Also, just wanted to double check that you’d recommend the 16RCS for the clutch MC. Thank you!
January / 17 / 2021
Answer:
Your calipers are 30/32 pistons, therefore 19RCS is NOT recommended ; btw you can install 19RCS and have fun but not have the same modulabity and feeling as using 17RCS. For clutch, as far as your stock mc is 12mm we recommend 14RCS .

My bike is a KTM 1290 SuperDuke GT1.Will it be a significant improvement on braking(both feeling and stoping power) over the OEM master cylinder?2.is better to choose rcs17 or 19?3.Stock fluid reservoir will work with the new master? Thanks a lot
March / 26 / 2022
Answer:
Your oem master cylinder is 16x19mm threfore using a 17mm (not 19mm) there will be a significant improvement. Stock reservoir will do, not the stock mounting bracket, you need a new mounting bracket so far.

On Suzuki GSXS1000 and Suzuki GSXS950 you can NOT mount any Brembo RCS because the right switch is too "fat" then the lever won't run the full stroke = you can NOT brake = You can not stop.

As far as your bike mounts handguards we can NOT recommend any master cylinder because the lever could touch the guards. Also if you need just more bite and less fade the correct upgrade is new brake pads (for example Brembo SR compound) and DOT 5.1 or superdot4 brake fluid.

Question:
I want to upgrade the braking system on my Ducati panigale v4 with brembo stylema calipers. This bike is for track use only. Currently has z04 pads and t drive discs. Do you recommend replacing M/C or callipers? Thanks
October / 09 / 2022
Answer:
For tack use only switch to GP4RX using a CNC 19x18 master cylinder . Otherwise change just the master cylinder using a 17RCS.

Question:
Hi there, I would like the RCS clutch and break cylinders for my 2003 Ducati 998. Would you know what the best mm size for each and do I need additional parts to fit them to the bike? Ps. Great q&a section on your website! Thanks.

Use 19RCS for Brake and 16RCS for Clutch. Since stock mc are axial, You need new brake / clutch lines or 2 adapters. You need also two brackets to hold the reservoirs.

Question:
Hello. I have a Gilera GP800 and am using a Brembo Stylema caliper for my rear break. What do you recommend using as a master cylinder, considering that I need it available as a left hand break lever.

Question:
Hi there, I have a 2008 Hypermotard 1100S. Would you suggest RCS17 or RCS19? Also do I need a radial master cylinder adapters? Thanks in advance.

Brembo recommends 19mm master cylinder. Your stock master cylinder is already semi-radial, therefore you do not need new brake lines or adapter. You need a reservoir bracket.
